I specialise in live-played MIDI drums that capture the feel of a real drummer with the flexibility of MIDI. Hi, I’m Mart Evans, a remote session drummer based in Philadelphia. Originally from the UK, I’ve been playing for 40 years, the last five remotely.

I've recorded for Tim Renwick (Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton), Alex Catchings, Steve Donnelly (Sheryl Crow, Nick Lowe), and Henry Louris, played on tracks produced by Ruslan Sirota (Chick Corea, Josh Groban), and shared sessions with Phil Keaggy, Iain Hornal (ELO, 10cc), and Mike Waldron (Martina McBride, Lee Ann Womack), amongst others.

I'm a song drummer. Rock and pop are my bread and butter, and that song-first mindset carries through Americana, indie, hard rock, prog, and the darker post-punk and gothic end.

I track live on Roland V-Drums, no programming, no loops, no AI, then send you takes to audition, and we refine from there.

You get clean MIDI plus mix-ready multitrack audio if required, so you can use my kit sounds or your own samples. Light percussion included if the track asks for it. Project rates and rush delivery available.

If you do require audio, I have a virtual drum warehouse to pick sounds from. I work primarily with Superior Drummer 3 and its many expansions, but also have Steven Slate, Addictive, and GGD, along with boutique libraries from folks such as Jake Reed and Aaron Sterling. Coupled with a ton of one-shots and custom samples, there's no reason we can't find the sound you have in your head.
